While minimizing energy usage is, in itself, a worthy goal, a customer might not reduce their overall expenditures if the cost of the energy purchased is not also controlled. In other words, if a customer reduces energy usage by 10% but the per-unit cost of the energy purchased increases by 10%, the overall effect is that the customer has actually achieved very minimal real dollar savings.
Golden Energy has long recognized that the evaluation of energy efficiency/energy savings alternatives requires a comprehensive approach that combines reductions/shifting of energy usage with the active management of energy purchase decisions. This process is effective both in areas where the customer has access to market-rate energy purchases (i.e. "Open Access" areas) and in areas where the customer makes purchases solely under standardized local utility tariffs.
